Popular Science featuring Interstate Highway System

On July 1, 1956, Congress passed the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act for the construction of 41,000 miles of interstate highways over a 20 year period. 

This Popular Science Magazine from May 1956, showcases articles about the interstate highway plan as well as planning a city in space, tractors, satellites, a race track in Los Angeles, rubber airplanes, V-8 engines,  new household inventions (kitchen), new car dashboards, farm machinery, bicycles, speedometer, and cigarette advertisement.
