September 17 is Constitution Day! This image is of a 17-inch American flag with 46 stars, made of silk and attached to a black wooden staff with gold top, made between 1908 (when Oklahoma became the 46th state) and 1912 (when New Mexico became the 47th state). This flag belonged to donor John Stevenson’s father.
