"A Thousand Points of LIght
“A Thousand Points of Light”

“A Thousand Points of LIght” – Batesville was justifiably proud of this lovely and innovative tree put up at the intersection of Main and Broad at Christmas time (ca 1948), shortly after the end of World War II.  Soon after this cheerful gathering it was knocked down by a motorist who was a Batesville native living elsewhere, but was not accustomed to a tree “growing” there.  Jeep Davis was the culprit; Albert West from A P & L had tree erected.
