Programs and Events 2012

February 12th  2 pm -  “Remember Those Hair Dos and Wigs?” A look at past and present hair care, with demonstrations.  Presented by Julie Gregg, Bertha Hughes, and Janet Gray.  

March 28th       - Ozark Foothills Filmfest Program, with Bob Pest of the Ozark Foothills Filmfest 

March 31st   10am-2pm – Join us for Spring Family Day to celebrate Easter with an “Easter Egg Roll” competition.  Fun games and crafts for the entire family.  

April 15th  2 pm  -  “Our World Archery Champions”  Presented by the Eagle Mountain Archers and Susan Parker. 

April 16th  and again on April 23rd  9am -  “Home School Day”  The theme will be the White River.  Please call for fees and reservations. 

May 11th  & 12th  - “Invasion of Batesville” a city-side Civil War reenactment event held on a site near the White River in Batesville,
Mark Mobley, coordinator.

June 10 2 pm - “Cosmetic Make-overs” A history of cosmetic use and demonstrations to  show current makeup for grandmothers, mothers, and daughters. Demonstration by Tiffany Campbell-Duke.

September 29th 2 p.m. -  “President Truman’s 1952 Visit to Arkansas”
a new DVD produced by the museum containing historical photos, itinerary maps, and  narration. Introduction by Twyla Gill Wright.  Museum’s Annual Membership Meeting

October 1st  and again on October 8th  9am -  “Home School Day”  Please call for fees and reservations

October 20th  -  “Fall Family Day” Join us for fun games and crafts for the entire family celebrating the Fall season.  Living History
demonstration planned.

November 11th - 2 p.m. - "Pictures in the Sky"    Program by Doug Matthews will feature information about astronomy.

December 8th 10am-2pm - “Christmas Family Day” Come and celebrate an Old-Fashioned Christmas at the Museum!


 
Admission for programs is free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.  Additional programs and information will be added as it becomes available.
