February 8 2 p.m. Remembering War’s End Exhibit Opening Moments in My Life Program

Exhibit Opening of the WWII exhibit and program by Helen Parman, which will feature readings from her autobiography "Mutchie's Memories" that includes the years from 1930s forward. It includes her life in Japan as a military wife.

Febuary 14 7 p.m. Love Bites -- Valentines's Day Fundraiser

Are you the sweetest dessert maker in town? Enter your best dessert recipe for a chance to win the title of best dessert maker and a $250 gift card. Or you can attend the event and sample all the delicious desserts and cast your vote for the winning entry.

February 23 9 a.m. Homeschool Day

In Honor of Black History Month the theme will be “A Lasting Legacy” – Stories of slaves, farmers, soldiers, educators, stonemasons and business owners

February 24 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program Arkansas

Mark Rorie will present the program on his book and speak about the famous Arkansans. There will be an Arkansas craft.

March 15 2 p.m.. Life on the Home Front During World War II

An interactive living history program that will include activities and memory sharing.

March 28 10 a.m. Spring Familly Day -

Arkansas the Natural State will be the theme for the event. Join us for nature related activities, games, demonstrations and fun.

March 31 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Civil War

Mary Cooper Miller will present the program about local individuals and their experiences during the Civil War. Participants will receive a free copy of the Museum produced card game “Conflict” which features local citizens during the War.

April 12 2 p.m. Women's Work During  World War II

Dr. Sharan Pittser tells of the often unacknowledged contributions of women in the war effort

April 28 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Native American

Dr. George Lankford will give a program on Native American Legends. Seniors will create a Native American craft.

May 24 2 p.m. Exhibit Opening - White River

The opening of the new major exhibit “Living With the White River: From the Ozarks to the Delta.” Dr. Sam Cooke of the Friends of the White River organization will present the program “Our White River Watershed: Keeping it Clean and Healthy.”

May 26 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Masons

Members of the Masonic lodge will speak about the Masons and their charitable works. The craft will be led by Frances Mathis.

Greta McCann will do a living history demonstration of Emily Weaver, a local teen convicted as a spy during the Civil War. The craft will be on the Language of the Fan.

Stephen McAteer, executive director of the MacArthur museum of Arkansas Military History in Little Rock, will present a program about Douglas MacArthur’s birth, military life and his work to occupy and rebuild Japan, instituting a democratic government there after WWII.

October 18 2 p.m. Japanese Relocation Camps in Arkansas

Presented by Susan Gallion, curator of the Japanese American Internment Museum.

November 1 2 p.m. After the War

Dr. Don Weatherman, President of Lyon College, will speak about activities in America after World War II, including the G.I. Bill, post war job changes and the rise of Suburbia.

November 8 3 p.m. Celebrating our Ozark Streams
Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers will be hosting a special event focusing on headwater streams. Click here for more information.
