Exhibit Opening with program by museum intern Amelia Bowman about how she created this exhibit,  Craig Ogilvie about picking cotton in the late 1940s, and Ray Bowman about timber and the Bowman Handles Company.

Premier of a new traveling exhibit featuring the photography and art of Hugo and Gayne Preller. They took photographs during the early 1900s on their floating studio on the White River, anchored at Augusta, Arkansas. This exciting exhibit is created by Chris Engholm.

May 18 2 p.m. How to Raise a Kitchen Garden

Tina Marie Wilcox, head gardener and herbalist at The Ozark Folk Center will share her knowledge about the nitty gritty of raising a garden from scratch.  This program is sponsored by the Independence County Master Gardeners and Old Independence Regional Museum.

June 22 2 p.m. Shaker Religion and Furniture

Author Twyla Gill Wright will speak about a distant Gill relative who became the lead eldress in the ministry at Pleasant Hill Shaker Village in Kentucky. She will display an array of large photographs of that village and have her recently published book “Shaker Eldress: Journey in Zion” for sale. The subject of Shaker  furniture will be presented by Mike West.

August 10 2 p.m. George Lankford - Main Street Story

Dr. Lankford will present photos and tell about the dynameic history of the city block west of Central Avenue.

September 14 2 p.m. OIRM Annual Meeting featuring Mara Leveritt,
Leveritt is an award winning journalist and author of three non-fiction books, including "The Devil's Knot".
September 28 2 p.m. Country Stores of the Ozarks: Past & Present

Dr. Brooks R. Blevins, professor of Ozarks Studies at Missouri State University, will present a talk on this subject, illustrated by many projected photographs.

Fall Family Day - Wheels!
This free program features crafts, demonstartions and games for the entire family.  This year's theme will be a "History of Wheels".
October 19 2 p.m. What's Happening at the Butler Center?

David Stricklin, director of the Center in Little Rock, will share what the Center has to offer researchers and visitors and plans for the future.

October 28 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Halloween Craft
November 9 2 p.m. Our Lives and the News - Local television anchors, Ashley Ketz Nolan & Aaron Nolan will speak about life in broadcasting.
November 25 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Thanksgiving Craft
December 13 10 a.m. Christmas Family Day - This traditional Christmas celebration features cookie decorating, carols, crafts and games.
December 16 10 a.m. Senior Craft Program - Christmas Music
